Challenging Heads Chess Camp
Chess is fun! Our goal is to provide each camper with a fun and educational experience. The skills we share with our campers transfer to all aspects of school and life: including patience, creativity, sportmanship, and problem solving.
Challenging Heads Chess has partnered with the Be Someone to provide chess camp at the Giant Food Store's Community Center. Challenging Heads offers classes to beginners, intermediate, & advanced players. The game of kings, as chess is sometimes called, has numerous educational and social benefits. How many activities can an 8 year old compete with a 35 year old?
Sign Up for chess at Giant's Community Center in Willow Grove and give your child a gift that will last a lifetime.
Need a reason to sign your child up for chess?
Chess is a game for people of all ages- Anyone can learn chess and at any age. The beauty of chess is that old can play young, young can play old and best of all no retirement. Grandmaster Victor Korchnoi still plays competitively at the age of 77.
Chess improves concentration- During the game the player is focused on the ultimate prize. Victory.
Chess develops logical thinking- You wouldn't give up a knight (3 points) for a pawn (1 point). Would you?
Chess promotes imagination and creativity- Children are taught the tactics needed to win each game they play, it is up to them to use their tools and find the numerous winning moves presented to them during the game.
Chess is fun- Ask a anyone of my students. Chess is fun! I plan many fun tournaments for the children to play in. Children love the fun social aspect of tournaments and the trophies!
