Glenn Bady
Glenn Bady was born in Philadelphia, Pa. Growing up he would play with his two older brothers, as their interests started to mature, Glenn was left to find other interests to occupy his free time. It was by accident that Glenn found the game of kings.
Glenn attended West Philadelphia High School where he met another student by the name of Wilbert Paige. Glenn and Paige would study chess for hours out of love for the game. In their sophomore year of high school, Glenn and Paige joined the high school chess team (The Speed Brains). Glenn was the star of the chess team, being promoted to first board and team captain for his junior year. During his tenure as captain, The Speed Brains won city, national and state championships. Upon graduation of high school Glenn attended Penn State University to further his education. However, his burning desire to play chess led him to join the United States Air Force. The Air Force allowed Glenn to travel and play chess all over the world. During his stay in the Air force Glenn became North Dakota State Champion, played for the Air force chess team, and several European chess teams.
For his outstanding chess play, the United States Chess Federation awarded him the title of Advance Life Master.
